In Virginia there are two Cape Henry Lighthouses. There is an old one and a New one. You cannot go inside the New lighthouse, but the Old one is accessible. The Lighthouses are not very tall at all, but you still get a good view of the ocean from the top. It takes about a Minute to get to the Top, it isn’t that high, but the stairs and ladders make it difficult. A Gift shop is also located at the Old Lighthouse.
IMPORTANT: To get inside the Lighthouse area you must show your ID and get your vehicle searched because it is close to Military Bases.

The St. Louis Arch stands 650 feet tall. On the way up, you wait in line for a small pod to dock. When it docks you get on it and the door shuts and the pod starts going up. It’s about a 2 Minute ride to the top. Once you get to the top it is worth the ride, you get a nice view of St. Louis.

Patriot’s point is a small port that holds an Aircraft carrier, Submarine, Destroyer, And coast guard cutter. The Aircraft carrier’s name is the Yorktown, The site museum was inside the carrier. If you go upstairs, it will take you to the Bridge, which is the observation area and you can see aircraft on the main takeoff deck. You can climb down the stairs and walk outside and look at the aircraft. On the deck there is a Radar plane, helicopter, F-18 Hornet, F-14 Tomcat. And a cargo plane that delivers the ship’s mail. And downstairs is the engine rooms and museum.
Here is a list of the Submarine Compartments

Norfolk Virginia is the largest port in the world. It holds many US warships that are still in use. The have huge carriers in the port, and many vessels patrolling the area. Civilians are allowed to put their boats in the water but they must be careful of all the tug boats coming up and down the channel. I spotted a Submarine heading out that was escorted by tug boats and armed warships. Norfolk also has the Wisconsin Battleship there. You can find photos of Norfolk here: http://prezi.com/n-t1lg3t1rox/ships-of-norfolk-virginia/
